Nami Island: Things To Do & How To Get There

Nami Island (Namiseom) is a beautiful escape just outside of Seoul, known for its tree-lined paths, romantic vibe, and amazing seasonal views. If you love K-dramas, enjoy nature, or just want a peaceful break from the city, Nami Island has something for you. From scenic walks to fun activities and tasty street food, this crescent-shaped island offers a lot to enjoy. Here’s a simple guide to visiting Nami Island, with tips on how to get there, things to do, and how to make the most of your trip.

How to get to Nami Island from Seoul

From Seoul to Nami Island Ferry Dock

To get to Nami Island, you first need to reach the Gapyeong Wharf, the ferry dock that connects to the island. There are several transportation options available:

1. Direct Shuttle Bus (Most Convenient Option)

If you want a hassle-free trip to Nami Island, the direct shuttle bus is the best choice. It operates daily from major locations in Seoul such as Hongdae, Myeongdong, and Dongdaemun, and takes you straight to the ferry terminal.

  • Duration: About 1.5, depending on traffic
  • Fare: Approximately 15,000 KRW for a one-way trip

  • Step 2: From Gapyeong Station, take a taxi (5-10 minutes) to reach the Nami Island Ferry Dock.

The fare is 6,900 KRW each way and we recommend you purchase train tickets online for the round trip before you leave. If you are going to visit some other places like Busan or Gangwon-do during your stay in Korea, consider purchasing Korea Rail Pass for multiple days.
