4 ways from the Incheon Airport to Gangnam
The easiest way to get to Gangnam from Incheon Airport is the airport bus if you don’t mind traffic. It will take you to the Seoul city center directly and totally stairs-free. The bus is a one-stop deal and you can also view the streets of Seoul while going to Gangnam. If you choose the train, you need to transfer. There are four ways to get to Gangnam from Incheon Airport.
Airport Bus (The Limousine City Bus)
The airport bus is the best way to get to Gangnam from Incheon airport. It takes approximately 60-80minutes but as always, the time depends on the traffic.
6009 Bus Route
From ICN Terminal 2
- Sinsa station – 3 stops
- Sinnonhyeon station – 5 stops
- Gangnam station – 6 stops
- Yangjae station – 9 stops
Time & Fare
The first bus from Incheon Airport Terminal 1 operates at 05:40 am and the last bus is at 11:06 pm. How good the bus interval is 15 -20 minutes! Although the fare, 17,000KRW is relatively expensive compared to the train (AREX), it takes you to Gangnam directly without transfer!
Bus Ticket Office
Purchase the bus ticket before you get on the bus. You can find ticket offices and vending machines inside and outside as in the below photos.

Where to get the bus 6009
To get the bus 6009, use exit 4 of the arrival hall and find platform 4A at the Incheon Airport Terminal 1.
If you land at Terminal 2, go downstairs and find platform 15.
Late-Night Bus
Don’t worry if your flight is late. There’re two late-night airport buses bound for Seoul; N6001 bound for Seoul station and N6000 bound for the Gangnam. The fare of the late-night bus to Seoul is 9,000KRW for adults and 7,500KRW for children.
- From Incheon Airport (ICN) to Seoul,
N6001 to Seoul station runs from 00:15 to 04:40, and N6000 is bound for the Gangnam Express Bus Terminal from 23:50 to 04:10. - From Seoul to the Airport,
Bus N6001 leaves Seoul station from 22:50 to 3:20, and N6000 leaves the Gangnam Express Bus Terminal from 22:30 to 2:50.

Train (AREX)
If you want to take the train to Gangnam station and Shinnonhyun station, be aware that they are different subway routes. Gangnam station is on the Seoul metro line number 2 (green line) and the Shinnonhyun station is on line number 9 (brown line) at the transfer from AREX (Airport Railroad).
Easily you could find Airport Railroad (AREX) sign at Incheon Airport. To get to Gangnam, go downstairs and buy a ticket first at the ticket office or vending machine looks like the below:
Route To Gangnam
To get to Gangnam station, you have to transfer from AREX (Airport railroad) to the subway line no. 2 at the Hongik University station.
When you take AREX, you will see there’re two types of trains; Express and All-stop train. Because the Express train operates only between Incheon Airport to Seoul station, get an All-stop train if your destination is Hongdae to transfer.
Time & Fare
It takes around 60minuets from ICN Terminal 2 to Hongik Univ. station with AREX and another 40minuetes to Gangnam station with Seoul Metro Line 2. The fastest train platform to transfer from AREX to Line2 is 5-4. The fare is 4,850KRW. Super cheap, Isn’t it ;)?
Route To Sinnonhyeon Station
To get to Sinnonhyeon station, you have to transfer from AREX (Airport railroad) to the subway line no. 9 at the Gimpo Airport station.
It takes around 44minuets from ICN Terminal 2 to Gimpo airport station with AREX and another 33minuetes to Sinnonhyeon station with Seoul Metro Line 9. The fare is 4,850KRW.

AREX trains depart every 10 – 25minuets from Incheon International Airport Terminal 2.

The taxi fare from Incheon airport to the Gangnam area is around 70,000 to 100,000KRW, it takes about 70 to 90 minutes. (The fare and time can be varied by the traffic.) Though it costs more than the other options, the taxi fare in Korea is still not that high compared to other cities.
Where to Get Taxi in Incheon Airport
At platform 4C across the airport bus stops, you can get an international taxi from Terminal 1.
For International Taxi, you can go to platform 1C at Terminal 2.
Jumbo Taxi
If you have 3 or more people in your group, I recommend this affordable private airport taxi service. The fare of this kind of jumbo taxi is around 90,000 – 120,000KRW. Car
You can drive from Incheon Airport to Gangnam. It’s 65km distance and takes approximately 70-90 minutes via ‘Incheon International Airport Express’. The toll fee is 6,600KRW.
